About Refrigeration Air Dryer

FCD series utilizes ultra-low pressure drop and Highly effective Shell and Tube heat exchanger to process compressed air from 20 scfm to 600 scfm. The refrigeration system is controlled by a highly reliable automatic or thermostatic expansion valve in lieu of non-adjusting capillary tube systems that can be responsible for premature refrigeration compressor failures. The FCD series is designed for heavy duty industrial applications and decades of reliable operation.

Refrigeration Air Dryer Operation

The compressed air carries the water in vapour form. The Refrigeration Dryer cools the compressed air which condense the water carried by the compressed air. The compressed air enters the Refrigeration Dryer where initially the compressed air is cooled down by the outgoing air, in this the outgoing air is also heated up to normal working temperature. The partially cooled compressed air then passes through the evaporator where it is further cooled down to lower temperature as low as 2 to 6 Degree Celsius. The cooling of the compressed air causes the water vapour in the air to condense. The condensed water is then separated from the compressed air in moisture separator. The separated water is removed by Automatic Drain Valve. The Dry air is heated up by using incoming wet air and wet air also cooled down in initial stage. The Dry air quality is in the range of 3 to 7 Degree Celsius Pressure Dew Point. The Outlet Dry air quality is as per ISO 8573-1:2010 (E) - Class 4.
